The circle in the design serves multiple symbolic purposes. It can be interpreted as a head, representing the human element in athletics; a ball, signifying various sports; or the sun, embodying the warmth and energy of Lima. This ambiguity allows viewers to connect with the design on multiple levels.
The shapes used for the arms and legs are intentionally designed to resemble fish, paying homage to Peru's famous seafood cuisine. These shapes also convey a sense of fluidity and movement, which are essential qualities in both athletics and marine life.
